"The property was in a great location that gave the opportunity to walk into the city or take a bus from outside the property. The property is on the is older but in great condition and the facilities were average for such a property. The staff were friendly and happy to share local knowledge along with their thoughts about venues to visit along with places to eat. We would use this property again as we like visiting York and the surrounding area "

"Very pleasant stay, relaxed in the pool after a long day on our feet in York centre. The Swimming Pool is not that big but adequate but feels full with about 10 people in. Think we were lucky with our timing. There is a Sauna also. City Centre only 5mins by Uber and cheap. We went back into City for a night out. Breakfast was really Nice, even had items Gluten Free for my Wife who is Coeliac. Nice view of the Race Course from back of Hotel. Overall Very nice Hotel"

"A nice individual hotel with excellent staff, friendly and informative. Characterful and comfortable room with an excellent shower!! Very conveniently located an easy 30 minute walk into York via the riverbank (past ice-cream boat). 7Kw EV charging at competitive prices and £15 charge for the car park. Nick on reception was very welcoming and the addition of a shared balcony to the room was an added bonus. Definitely a goon choice if you want somewhere with charm and a friendly atmosphere"

"The hotel was very lovely, stylish and clean, and felt cozy. Bed was comfy and the room kept warm in the evening. There’s extra amenities near the rooms if you run out of anything. There is parking on the drive which is very handy if you’re travelling by car. The location is great, and the riverside walk to reach the city was a great way to start the mornings. If you want an old school pub stay experience, in York, you can't go far wrong. If I had a small gripe the bed wasn't amazing in our room but that said we'd happily stay again for everything else the hotel has to offer"
