"The spacious room is in spitting distance of the central piazza and the sea. It is below street level, but gets plenty of daylight, and I appreciated the little outdoor patio. The staff is very friendly, and when I had a problem with the kettle, it was fixed within just a few hours. If you are a cold sleeper, bring a hot water bottle (I did); the blanket is very thin and there is only one. "Hotel Eremo is a former monastery. You are greeted immediately by name by the friendly staff. The property is serene, dining is available outside in a courtyard, at the pool, in your room. There is an amazing breakfast buffet. There is a spa or cooking classes by the chef which need to be reserved in advance. It is necessary to have a car to visit the beach or surrounding towns. We also drove to the oldest winery in Sicily for a tour, tasting, and lunch."
