Barlovento is a gem near Tayrona. One almost doesn’t need to leave the property to get the real jungle beach experience. However, it is a perfect home base for your adventure. The accommodations are very comfortable and quiet. Just watch out for the “no see ums” insects that get through the mosquito nets in the cabana, but this is true everywhere. Very friendly, very helpful. When our driver couldn't make it to the Casa to take us to Santa Marta airport for our flight to Bogota, Marisela took us both in our car and drove the hour and 15 minutes to drop us off at the airport.

We had a great stay at Yachay. The staff is very caring. The food at the restaurant is absolutely delicious. The hotel is surrounded by nature and therefore very relaxing. I wished there was a larger pool but we appreciated the jacuzzi and made good use of it. This property was such a pleasant surprise. It ended up being my favorite stay of my whole trip. The staff is so attentive and you can't beat starting the day already inside the park. We have stayed here as a family (2 adults, 2 children under 8) and as a couple, and it was perfection both times. The staff are incredibly friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing, the pool is stunning, and waking up to nothing but the sound of the river and birds was complete bliss. It’s extremely close to the entrance of Parque Tayrona, and a short drive to waterfalls. I have recommended this hotel to anyone who will listen. It is by far my favourite hotel in Colombia.
