Playa Hermosa is a black sand beach, felt safe there. Not too many beach front restaurants at first glance - but did not overly explore. There is a playground on beach too. A car is well worth it in this area but not required (recommended )

Nice beach, friendly locals. Uncrowded and not too many tourists which is nice. Great seashells. Casita del Mariscos restaurant is fantastic!!

A little ways to the nearest town (Coco Bay). Lucky we had a rental car so we drove there for all our dinners

The beach is great for natire lovers. Seculed and natural waters, nature.
"Hotel was extremely clean. As soon as you entered the lobby, you could smell that it's constantly kept up with. The room was kind of small but we were only staying 1 night, so we made it work. The pool was great, outdoor bar too. Breakfast was good and staff were attentive to refilling food and cleaning up after guests. There's a Starbucks right next door, a KFC about 1 minute away, and a 24 hour gas station like 5 minutes away (all walking distance). There is an ice cream shop and a pizza place too, but we didn't go. Besides that, there's really nothing else in the area but there was a festival that night the bartender told us about and we hopped into an Uber and spent the evening there."
