We only had two nights at Rio Perdido but they were amazing. From the moment we walked in and were welcomed with the most delicious passion fruit welcome drink till the moment we checked out with the friendly folk at reception, we felt warmly received and graciously cared for. Steven greeted us as we entered - he was very attentive and warm as he told us about the hotel and its various offerings.

The stay was amazing ! Beautiful place with the most extravagant service I received in a foreign country. The reception desk was top of the line and the restaurant staff. A great location above the city of Canas and 40 minutes away from Liberia airport. I was able to check out the Rescata La Puma which was very nice as well
Amazing place, incredible service and wonderful staff. Not a typical hotel stay. It’s remote and on its own incredible property which makes it special. The staff is always available for your needs, the rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and food was delicious. Extremely satisfied with my stay.
If you are looking to decompress, enjoy the natural beauty of a massive estate, and breath clean air - this place is the best!!! Jorge, the owner is a veteran of the tourism industry and is extremely knowledgeable about geography, history, pretty much everything Tico. The property has a few pools, a hiking trail, a water slide, horseback riding, zip lining, a jacuzzi, and more. Bring a yoga mat and a bathing suit.
Love this place. The owner was very helpful and hospitable, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The property offers plenty of trails and activities, so there’s really no need to leave—you can fully enjoy your time right there. Also, the food at the restaurant is excellent. Highly recommend.
Cute little hotel in downtown Liberia. It's pretty basic but clean and the staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating. After our flight was cancelled on a Saturday evening, we ended up at El Cerro along with many others from the flight. The staff worked hard to get everyone settled, gave us late night dinner options, and booked cabs back to the airport for the morning. So grateful to the wonderful front desk person on Sat March 21!
This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I loved the upgraded superior room we stayed in. The room had everything we could ask for-- a private yard with hammock, room safe, espresso machine, tv, ice-cold a/c, wonderful smelling hand soap, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner, blow dryer, hand mirror, closet with hangers, bedside reading lamps, and stocked refridge. Anytime we called the front desk for something, the staff attended to our needs in record time. I fell and scraped my knee...
The setting is breathtaking, with the volcanoes and rain forests surrounding you and gorgeous wildlife throughout. The hosts Ana and Pablo are incredible warm caring people who have unmatched hospitality. The tour of the chocolate plantation is a must - samples were delicious. Eat the food they prepare; it is fresh, tasty, and they can accommodate vegetarians. Most guests had rented a car because getting there requires some smaller gravel roads through tiny towns. This was such a great place to stay! The views were awesome, it was very quiet and peaceful, and it was very unique to stay in a dome. We saw so many hummingbirds and butterflies. The caretakers were the most helpful, friendly, generous people. They went out of their way to help us with anything we needed and they also had a cute friendly dog that greeted us. Just a few minutes away there were a couple restaurants to eat at and it was a 5 minute car ride to Rio Celeste. Highly recommend this...
