"La Casa Grande is a boutique hotel in lovely ancient home in the old part of Arcos, atop the edge of the high cliff rising out of the surrounding river valley. Our room had great character, a comfortable bed and a very nice 2-level balcony. We got drinks from the reception desk and brought them up to a beautiful rooftop deck to watch the sunset. And breakfast was outstanding. The location is perfect for wandering around the old town. However, be prepared--one must park quite a distance away in the lower and newer section of town. We had to wait in line with other cars around 30 minutes for a space to open up in the recommended parking garage and there were no taxis to be found so it took a 20 min walk up the hill to reach the hotel. Well worth it for us!"
