Santa Pola town itself has a lovely harbour area with many good eating places. It can be tricky parking unless its out of season and the road to the airport/Alicante can get very busy.

Lovely little town with beautiful promenade and marina. Not too busy in February when we stayed all the amenities you could wish for.
"We only stayed the 1 night before an early flight but found the hotel excellent and good value.
Obviously a great location for the airport (10 minute drive) but also walking distance to a good selection of bars and restaurants.
The room was modern, comfortable and very clean. (the only issue if it was an issue was a surprise visitor during the night a rather large cockroach that had to be disposed of) However, I'm sure we'll use again."
