Fort Augustus is well-known for its attractions such as Clansman Centre and Allt na Criche. Visitors speak highly of this welcoming city's restaurants and small-town setting.
Take a long weekend to appreciate this beautiful place. Watch boats pass through the locks. Quite an engineering feat. Walk Loch Ness paths. Soak in the beautiful area. A special place for sure.

Good
Very touristy town with touristy prices and not great food. The Caledonian Canal Center was the only exception with reasonable prices, great coffee, Friendly staff, and a nice breakfast roll.

Excellent
Lovely village, beautiful setting. Recommend The Boathouse restaurant.
"This is a wonderful place to stay. It feels like the Scottish hunting lodge it was, solid and comfortable and close to the forest. The view over Loch Ness is perfect. The staff take very good care of you. The food is excellent. The location is convenient to all the Highlands. The bed is comfortable. There is a fine lounge downstairs and chairs on the lawn overlooking the loch. My only tiny complaint was that the toiletries and in room coffee came in tiny plastic packaging which caused a lot of difficult recycling.

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Lovat. The staff was the best of all of Scotland(from Edinburg, Fort Augustus and Isle of Skye). The hotel is beautiful and you can walk a short distance to town. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend."
"Loved our stay at the Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel. Very easy check-in & parking. Very convenient to things around Loch Ness--and not too bad a drive into Inverness. GREAT pizza at their cafe/bistro!"
"It is a great property but don’t arrive late because there is not much communication until you arrive at the property. We arrived 3pm and you pick up keys at the coffee shop that closes arround 5:30. As long you get there early you won’t have a problem. Otherwise, the property is great! Very clean and spacious. One of the nicest place we have booked. "
"Very good for a 3 star hotel, we had loch view rooms with an unbeatable view. Breakfast was also excellent, with large buffet selection, plus cooked to order hot breakfast or pancakes. And fab coffee. Staff were all welcoming, helpful and friendly. A great stay. "
