Hotels in Bishops Castle

"Upon arrival there was a sign on the reception advising that there is no food being served at the hotel. This includes breakfast. Anyone wishing to eat in the evening will need to either drive somewhere (not really walking distance from anything) or use a delivery service. It would be helpful to have this clearly detailed on the booking page as it is a general assumption that the hotel will at the very least include a breakfast service. The building, grounds and surrounding areas are all very nice, however, upon entering the hotel, its as if you have gone back in time to the 1980's. The whole decor is very dated, with narrow halls and stairs and the rooms themselves haven't been renovated for what seems like 3 decades. I imagine that the hotel was once a very nice place, with the restaurant and grounds, and would have been a fantastic wedding venue, however, it seems that years of neglect and lack of investment have lead to it becoming rather run down and and in need of extensive upgrades."

"Good breakfast and choice. Room very clean and comfortable. Staff lovely. Hotel a rabbit Warren of rooms and corridors. But that makes it very interesting. The bar and restaurant had a great buzzy vibe."

"It serves a purpose if all you're using it for is to rest your head. Situated in a good location however the whole place looks as if it's trapped in the 70s. The place also smelt musty and the carpets were worn away they're that old."

"This was a very old property that had been altered to meet modern standards. Fairly basic but adequate. The accommodation was over a pub which inevitably was noisy but quiet after 11 pm There was no parking and no breakfast The staff were not visible but I was able to leave my luggage there after the 11am check out"
