The wild honey hotel was our best stay in Ireland. It was unique with a truly wonderful handmade Michelin star breakfast. There are several restaurants within walking distance with gourmet foods. There is even a local pub >150 year old pub with a friendly and fun traditional Irish music session on Thursday nights. This was an easy drive to the Cliffs of Moher. My only regret is we did not spend more days here.
The Kinvara Guesthouse is a jewel. It's big-city lodging in a small, cozy Irish town. It's the kind of town one sees in Irish travel books and brochures. Parking is available in front of the guesthouse, on the street, essentially. They have an elevator (lift) which was a big help for my wife (and me with our luggage). We had a huge room on the second floor with a view of the "plaza" in front of the guesthouse. The bathroom was more than adequate. Our only complaint is that there were no wash...
We were relieved to find this very nice place to stay. We had come from Galway where there were zero vacancies. This morning we had a dreamy visit to Thoor Balley.
Amazing hosts very friendly, gave us a tour of all the facilities. If you love BnBs that are more off the beaten path then this is for you. The drive is absolutely lovely up a mountain and around the coast (wild Atlantic way)! It’s only 30 min to the cliffs, and there are towns nearby.
The BnB is so charming with lovely communal rooms. There are 2 fireplaces with cozy chairs and dark wood beams on the ceiling, brass old lamps, and oil paintings. All the dark wood reminds me of a library or...
We stayed here for 2 nights for a portion of our honeymoon. From the start, we loved everything about it. Staff were super friendly and helpful with check in, and then will drawing on a map for us to help us find things to do in Galway. The included breakfast was really good. The West restaurant (upstairs) was a little too fancy for us, so we ended up eating down the street at O'Grady's on the Pier. It was amazing seafood. Reception staff are welcoming and professional, and very helpful. They excel at making you feel they are there to make your stay better: transportation, directions, shopping, sightseeing suggestions, etched. The best of the last 10 hotels I've stayed in this summer.
