I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It was absolutely perfect for our two day stop in the Lake District. Such a great mix of comfort and hospitality and practicality (very close to the Lake District bus stops). I also appreciated the recommendations from the folks living there.

Spotless room and nicely decorated. Owners very friendly and chatty. Guest house only a short walk from town centre. Optional breakfast is a good idea and was very reasonably priced.

Lovely b&b ran by a wonderful really nice couple who are very tentative checking in with you every morning at breakfast but otherwise leaving you to enjoy the lake District. They checked in with my dietary requirements and provided for it at no extra charge (a rarety). Pretty good transport links up and down Windermere lake with short drives or long walks to a huge number of hikes. Wide amount of guide books and literature on the region available to borrow for free. Easy access to a number of activity centres for kayak canoe and sailing. Very enthusiastic about positive environmental impact green showers and recycling bins in rooms. Amazingly comfortable bed and very nice room made getting up and setting out early a tad difficult.

We found a warm welcome here from the hosts. It was a super clean property, with a lovely comfy bed in an extremely quiet area. Great communication prior to arrival, also suggestions and help with things to do and places to visit whilst we were there. A continental style breakfast was offered on request for a small charge which we found to be great value. I would definitely recommend Haisthorpe!

Lovely place to stay..
This was our first stay at Haisthorpe House, though we visit the area every year.
We stayed for 2 nights were certainly not disappointed.
The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and scrupulously clean.
We had a kingsize bed which was incredibly comfy with superior quality bedding and linen, a modern en-suite shower which appeared to be brand new, with toiletries and ample fresh towels provided.
Our hosts were a lovely, friendly and accommodating couple, nothing was any trouble and we commend them on the high quality of service they provided, especially during these difficult times..
The house itself is warm and cosy and has a lovely homely feel to it. The location is great and its only a few minutes walk to the bars, cafes, restaurants and other sites.
All C19 precautionary measures are in place and adhered to, we felt very safe.
We’d highly recommend a stay here, it’s a lovely little place, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would certainly stay again.

Outstanding. I was made to feel very welcome and the owners made a conscious effort to address me by my name. The room and cleanliness were faultless and the room was modern and functional. The breakfast was exactly what I requested. I look forward to returning.
