Friendly staff

Appears they are renovating so not holding that against them but they could do a better job of deep cleaning common guest areas like vacuuming the lobby etc. Staff was friendly although not present at the desk much on the late PM after midnight shift.

It would have been very helpful to know that the “lanai rooms” do not have a window to the outside!! We had a sliding glass door to the indoor pool which is basically in the lobby adjacent area. So you get chlorine smell and no outside view. There was also a kids birthday pool party which ran well last 11pm which is exhausting when you’ve been awake for 36+ hours. At least we were able to check in early and the bar staff was nice. The front desk staff was very indifferent. We got our cookies and parking was free, but this was the strangest DoubleTree ever and I wouldn’t want to stay there again.

Comfortable Stay

I was here for business and I believe this is the nicest hotel in Austin - however there doesn't appear to be many choices. Staff was all quite friendly, the room are quite big, and while clean they are all dated - which is no big deal. The breakfast at the cafe was not the greatest, but maybe pancakes aren't their specialty.
