Our stay at the Wyndham in Bloomington was overall just okay. The morning of our arrival, we received a text that the hot tub was out of service. While I understand that maintenance issues happen, it was disappointing to find out the day-of, especially if that amenity factored into the booking decision.
The room itself was average but not exceptionally clean. There were visible marks on the bed sheets, which immediately made us question the overall housekeeping standards. The bathroom showed noticeable wear and tear — water damage on the floor, a bathtub that was chipped in several areas, and heavy scratching around the drain. The rust streaks in the tub were especially concerning at first glance, as they gave the impression of poor maintenance.
Additionally, the listing noted “Breakfast Available” and “Parking Available,” which technically is true — but both come with additional fees. Paying for parking while staying as a hotel guest feels unusual, and the phrasing was somewhat misleading. It would be more transparent to clearly state that these amenities are available for an extra charge.
Overall, the stay was not terrible, but it did not meet expectations in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and value for cost.
I would rate this stay as 2.5 / 5 if I could.
