The garden, the renovation of the old palace building, the swimming pool, the quality of housekeeping services, the room comfort are top, congratulations.
The Food and Beverage dept needs to be better managed: breakfast at a palace cannot have old dry bread offered or uncooked and dry old potatoes in e - but in our case two mornings in a row- offered to customers. And all staff should smile a minimum and clear dishes from guests tables with kindness and care, not just rude promptness. Seafood salad at Italian restaurant - most expensive starter - cannot have undercooked clams or unfresh items to bother stomach later, I was badly surprised. Deserts were amazing but the rest requires double-checking. The policy for late checkout - especially for just 2h extra - by asking the guest to come to the reception desk the day of departure instead of working it out at checkin when requested - is not what one can expect in such premises. This IS a palace, not a mid class hotel.
Promptness to answer the phone, especially at the Spa, needs to be reviewed. And apparently there’s is a lack of staff there, seems all is full all the time…disappointing because it is such a fine place and location otherwise.
The rest is up to what one can expect or beyond. But these lacks of attention can really generate unnecessary stress and damage a stay which for such a price should be perfect or close to it.
Would like to be back to see if things in these areas will improve or not.
