Grossly Misrepresented

I rarely leave negative reviews unless I think it is important for others to know. Honestly, I wish someone would have said these things so I could make an informed decision before I stayed here. I did not expect luxury by any means, but I do believe this property was vastly misrepresented. The room was not very clean - hair and dirt was on the floor throughout the room and bathroom. The air conditioner/fan rattled loudly ALL night. The mattress must have been pretty old as it sagged quite a bit (it was difficult to roll over or change position because of how much it sagged. I would have been much better off staying at an extreme budget motel...better price and probably much better accommodations. On a positive note, I want to say that the lady that checked me in at the front desk upon arrival was very friendly and efficient.

Close to ISU and the rest of town too.

We were visiting ISU to see if it would be a good fit for my daughter. The hotel was close to campus but also close to restaurants and stores. It was quiet, the pool looked good. The hot tub was nice. The price was right. I got to spin the prize wheel and won a free appetizer. That was a pretty cool idea to have that. Breakfast was OK, not great but was fine. The eggs were flavorless, but sausage was good and waffles are always good. It would have been nice to have some country gravy to go with the breakfast or maybe some fruit for the waffles. Just an idea. Overall, the price was good, the bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean. I would stay there again if my daughter decides ISU is where she wants to go.

We booked this room because it had a bar and a pool table and a restaurant and came into town for a pool tournament and everything was closed. Very disappointing.

I booked this hotel because I had a restaurant and bar with a pool table came to town for a pool tournament and the restaurant and bar was closed. People were amazing. The mattress really broke down.

Check in was great! He practically had me checked in as I walked in the door, before I even got to the desk. Very friendly and helpful. Older hotel but room was clean and comfortable. Great potty area for my dogs. He made sure to put us in a room close to the exit and potty area. Although it was close to the pool so there was some extra noise from that. Ate dinner at the restaurant, food was good and convenient.

This hotel is gorgeous! It clearly has history and so much potential! But lacks attention to detail. The rooms have been updated but still feel older. Like a new coat of paint over damaged walls would fix things. The bathroom had new granite and tile, but the shower head was rusted and the grout was damaged. It was a comfortable stay, but not luxury like we hoped this beautiful location was capable of.
