Pluses: 1.) It's one of the few "budget" options in Mammoth that have covered parking. It can be a real plus if it's snowing. 2.) a huge indoor hot tub. 3.)Breakfast is included.
Minuses: basically everything else. The rooms are dumpy, climate control is non existent: with old radiators you either sweat to death or freeze. I complain about it every time when I visit mammoth: why is there no "Middle?" Either you're in a dumpy old condo, Dilapidated motels that are by far the worst locations in the chains (I've stayed in Q inns where gunfire is constant that look like the ritz compared to this place), or you're paying 600 plus a night for anything approaching the most mediocre Courtyard, comfort, or Holiday Inn in anytown USA. If it wasn't my favorite (and drivable) mountain I'd go anywhere else but I guess that's why they don't even try to improve anything.
