Great Stay

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was pretty much everything we could have hoped for. The room was clean and inviting. The bed was big and comfy and the hot tub was perfect. We also found plenty of hiking and biking within easy driving distance of the hotel.

The room was surprisingly modern for a very old historic hotel, and all the expected amenities (except a full breakfast) were included. The big jacuzzi tub was a bonus that I used both nights.The parking lot is gravel, but the hotel deserves proper hard paving. The guests above my room were a little noisy both nights, but thankfully quieted down by the 10:00 p.m. quiet time. Tim the host showed me all the features of room, something I had never experienced at any hotel. I highly recommend the Stagecoach House Inn, and Town Pizza for the excellent cod meal.

Super nice staff, and the place, albeit slightly dated, was very comfortable and had an old timey charm and fascinating history (look up Stagecoach Inns, RI) making it a wonderful spot to rest your bones. The jacuzzi tub in the "Honeymoon Suite" did not disappoint either. Thanks!!! PS: Grab a bite across the street at the Wood River Bar and Grill for decent affordable grub.

It was a lovely 250 year old stagecoach inn. Our room was on the front next to a road intersection and I am a light sleeper. That being said next time we need to stay in the area i will make sure to have a room on the back over looking the river. Since I am a very light sleeper. The Inn is very easy to get to and easy acess to most of RI since it is centrally located. Making it a perfect place to stay and see the sights.

Room was fine and staff helpful. Basic breakfast items and free ice. AC worked but heat was challenge in Aug and we needed both. Many more stairs than expected, parking lot is gravel/dirt and 2 flights of stairs to room carrying bags was not ideal or expected - this is because parking is in rear or lake side.

Comfortable but needed a bit

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful upon our arrival. We were in a downstairs room, which I found very noisy until around 8 pm with the upstairs office chairs moving across the floors. Also, the channels on the TV did not include local access which was not satisfying.

Perfect night

After lots of driving it was a pleasure to have such a comfortable place to stay. Everything was clean and tastefully decorated. The shower worked great and the bed was very comfortable. AC and TV were awesome, and my own keurig for coffee in the AM Had dinner at the Wood River inn, just across the street. Food was really good.

A charming and convenient hotel for those looking for a less expensive stay that's not far from Univ. of RI, Mystic CT, or the Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun casinos. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms are plain but clean and comfy. It was a great location and experience and I'd definitely stay there again if I'm in the area. If I return, I'd definitely pay the little bit extra for a "River View" room next time as we chose to save a few dollars by booking the "city/stagecoach view" and were annoyed by the streetlights and car noise (I would recommend that the hotel get a set of blackout curtains for that room).
