We had Room 1 with the 4 poster bed. Very cozy and individual. Love the thick mattress! Pleasant surprise of a live Irish band on in the bar when we arrived and it was a full house with a great atmosphere 😊 We ordered food and wow it was outstanding. We had lamb burger with chips and homemade coleslaw and chicken burger. All meat is locally source from nearby farm. And a chocolate and caramel cheesecake which was divine and beautifully presented. Our server was Kylie who was very attentive and friendly and definitely deserved our tip at the end. The manager (don’t know his name) was also a delightful friendly person making us feel very welcome and proud of his establishment. The property is on the Main Street so very convenient to all other pubs and lovely boutique shops and the river for lovely walks. A visit to Tanners wine and whiskey shop was 2 mins walk down the bank. We have no hesitation in recommending this place and will return here when we next visit Shrewsbury.

We had an excellent stay at the Cromwell's Tap House. Check in was easy and the staff very helpful. The room was small but perfectly adequate with good storage space and a great shower. The bed was comfy and the room and pub itself have real character, being a timber framed building dating back 400 plus years. The location is excellent in the centre of town, but not too noisy. We enjoyed the Sunday lunch and accompanying cask ales very much. We stopped on a Sunday night, so it was very quiet when we arrived back at the pub and we had a good night's sleep. Very good value for money and we would stay again.

Meget hyggeligt "hotel", dvs værelser ovenpå en restaurant i centrum af Shrewsbury. Sjovt værelse med mange skæve hjørner og detaljer, rent og pænt og alt fungerede som det skulle. Superfin beliggenhed i centrum kun 5 minutters gang fra stationen. Dog bør det tydeligt fremgå på hjemmesiden at man skal henvende sig i restauranten for at checke ind, vi var nødt til at ringe til hotellet for at finde ud af det. Men bortset fra denne detalje var alt rigtig godt, kan varmt anbefales.

Room and bedding were generally clean and comfortable - at the level expected for a three star property. It was a bit unfortunate that I needed to get early nights ahead of work days and my room seemed to be directly above the bar. I was otherwise happy with the quality of the accommodation. As another reviewer has said, this is an old property - the fact that it's a bit worn is just part and parcel. However, if you're someone with accessibility issues then it would be unsuitable (e.g. uneven floors, stairs only, not super roomy).

Fabulous four-poster room and excellent value. Bed was really comfy. Very weedy hairdryer and minimal toiletries, so bring your own. Incredible shower in which to use the minimal toiletries though! The man who showed me to the room was lovely. Would very happily stay again.

The room wa clean and comfortable. The staff are brilliant. There were a couple of 'issues' when we arrived. TWe couldn't get the bedside lights to work and the radiator was very noisy and not heating. We mentioned this to the staff and both issues were sorted straight away (the fuse switch on the wall had been turned off, hence the lights not working and th radiator had an airlock and needed to be bled).There is some noise from the bar below but this ends when the bar closes at 10.30 and then all is quiet. The food in the bar is delicious and you get a discount on food and drink if you are staying upstairs!
