The Waldorf Astoria felt far more focused on being an Instagram backdrop than delivering a truly exceptional luxury hotel experience. The property is undeniably beautiful, but the substance did not match the hype or the price point.
Service was inconsistent and lacked the attentiveness and sophistication you would expect from a world-class New York hotel. Much of the atmosphere seemed geared toward influencers and TikTok content creation rather than discerning travelers looking for comfort, elegance, and a meaningful enhancement to their NYC visit.
At these rates, I expected timeless luxury, seamless service, and a sense of hospitality that elevated the experience. Instead, it often felt performative and transactional. There are many hotels in New York that deliver far better value, stronger service, and a more authentic luxury experience.
