I gave the property lower marks because of major renovations going on. There's construction debris on several floors and the elevators. The noise starts at 8:00 am and reverberates through the entire hotel. On the plus side, I got a newly refurbished room and a comped full breakfast at the restaurant. The location is great-across the street from the river and easy walking distance to every attraction downtown and Baylor University.

Do not stay here until the renovation is complete. We have been staying at this property for years. I saw there was a renovation going on but I had no idea the property was this bad. We paid a good amount to stay here. Meanwhile, one elevator is out of service and we waited nearly 45 minutes on a Sunday to get an elevator. Everytime the elevator opened, it would be full of construction materials. The construction started at 7 am on Sunday. The pillows were absolutely horrible. My son and I were up every 30 minutes. The air conditioner was so loud that if you fell asleep, it woke you up when it went on. The toilet had zero pressure and wouldn't flush. The breakfast was horrible. We couldn't even find a person to order an omelet from. Hopefully the renovation brings this place back much better. We love the location and it hss always been our go to since I was in college in the 90s.
