10/10 Exceptional

Central location, great support staff.

Very clean. Nice bathroom. Good for the price. Really easy to check in. Lockers available to leave luggage which is really appreciated. Only thing is we had a problem with the electricity and the staff were no help at all, telling us that it wasn’t their problem. So the costumer service is not good. They answered quickly on WhatsApp tho.

Great location near the main shopping area. If coming from Campahna station, take the bus and not the train to Sao Bento. There are steep stairs. Great set up for the services apartments

Not bad but....

Overall its not bad its fully restored but they have placed misleading information there is no 24/7 reception... During night you kind of hear pretty much everything from the neighbour rooms...
GEORGIOS, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The location was great. It had the smallest lift I have ever seen, but I was glad to have it. I appreciated the fridge. The room was small, but fine. They didn’t clean it the first day and checking in was a bit unsettling with no person there to assist. I didn’t understand that everything was done on line. The price was good.

Location is great and the room is small but good enough. No reception and it could take a moment to get answers via whatsapp from the owner.

Comfortable and super clean

I was pleasantly suprised with my room at Mystay Porto Batalha. The room was extremely clean and has aircon and a bar fridge. From the train station the climb up to the hotel was incredibly steep up R. de Madeira but i found if you just walk up R. 31 de Janeira it was much easier even though it seems longer the walk is easier.
Mandy, 2-night trip

Great property, clean and convenient to all we wanted to see. Parking was difficult but with the help of the remote staff was able to park in a parking garage at a reduced rate. The lack of staff on site made it a bit difficult if you have any questions or concerns..

Nice 3 day stay in Porto

The front desk staff was so helpful with touristing tips and getting us a ride to the airport. The desk is not staffed all hours and the room doors are keyless (on a number pad). Breakfast was adequate. The hotel is on a hill and there are good ways and bad ways to get to it (i.e. stairs, or a tall hill or skirting around the hill). It is very well located for accessing restaurants and a laundry.
lorrie, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

For a bathroom of that size you expect a decent amount of room in the shower cubicle. It’s so tiny that even a petite person has trouble turning around in there. You keep hitting the faucet. We had to ask a lady that was on her way out after knocking off work for soap. We only had tea bags on the first day. Thereafter nada
Omar, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

Overall, the location of the property was the best thing about it. On the downside, it was located on a very steep street, difficult to access with suitcases. In addition, the elevator was so small that it was difficult for two people with suitcases to fit. In addition, the staffing plan at the front desk was inadequate. When we arrived, there was no one there, although there was a sign that said, “We will be right back.” They were not right back until the next day. One of our travel partners was assigned a room that smelled very musty, and felt like a basement. On the upside, the desk personnel did help our travel partners secure a new room in which they could sleep, so that was helpful. The woman who was in charge of the breakfast buffet was excellent, she worked so hard to keep all items refilled, and greeted all the guests with a very pleasant good morning. She was a real plus.
Ana, 5-night trip

8/10 Very good

First of all, google maps led us up to this hotel, from Sao Bento station, up the steepest incline and set of stairs, I have ever encountered. If directions tries to take you up Rua Madeira, from that main, crazy intersection, look for parallel streets that will get you there more gradually. There was a lot of graffiti and broken glass in the area, and the following morning, there was usually an empty liquor bottle or beer bottles left on the stairs. The code to enter the building worked great, and our room was on the ground floor, which I think is the only one. The patio area was quite small, and practically enclosed, so you couldn’t see anything. The lounge was never open that I saw, so cannot comment on it. It was great that there are lockers there to store your luggage if the room isn’t ready. We never went down the steep hill to look for restaurants or shopping, since there is so much available at the top of the hill. It’s also close to the top of the Dom Luis bridge. Bed was comfortable and shower worked great. Would stay again, but would choose a balcony instead of the terrace, due to the lack of view of anything.
Jo-Anne, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The property looks newly renovated with hi tech feeling. The room was clean and the check-in was fast and easy. The location is "in the middle of everything". The property has locking boxes where you can temporarily store your belongings. They had a nice terrace at second floor. Cons: - comunications. Through Expedia you get no answers. Through the phone they posted, as well. Through the phone they send you 3 days in advance for SMS and WhatsApp nothing. I sent a message asking for parking options, and I got total silence. - on line check-in. To be able to receive the pass to enter your room, one has to enter personal data (for Portugese officials) and (a big surprise) the time of arrival and time of leave to the minutes. Who knows 3 days in advance the exact time to the minutes. - electrical outlets. No matter how we moved the beds, at least one outlet beside bed was covered by bed. We couldn't use it to charge the phone. - sound proofing. If you have good neighbors and sound sleep, all ok. If not, you can hear the ones above walking on the squeaky floor, the one beside talking and listening to tv, the frige (or something similar) from the building beside. - balcony. We had one in front of our window but to go there we must jump through the window (no door) - room view. We had a beautiful view of the back of a building and inside their rooms. - shower. The shower head was totally straight and flat, and the support was keeping it parallel with the wall. Water flows above.

STAY AWAY FROM MY STAY

The best thing I could say about MyStay Batalha is well, nothing. The room is beyond minimalist. The closet is a rolling clothes rack. The two white formica tables look cheap like five and dime store products. The Internet service is slow and intermittent;the electrical outlets on either side of the bed are difficult to use because the mattress gets in the way; the electric hot water heater has no place to plug in unless you unplug the refrigerator outlet to heat up some water for the two teabags they provided. The bathroom has no place to leave your toiletries unless you want to leave it on top of the toilet. The shower is very slippery. You need to be careful not to slip onto the glass doors. I was in the shower, trying to open the little soap packet they left. it was impossible to open so I left the shower to get my own soap, leaving wet footprints on the wood floor. When I used a towel to dry up the moisture, the towel was dirty….not a great endorsement for their cleaning ability. Their HVAC did not work and blew cold air with a temperature setting of 30°C. When I asked for another room they did n have any available. Later I was told management knew the heating system was faulty. I don’t recommend this place. there are much better places to say in Porto with the same price point. I surprised there weren’t bed bugs.
Lenore, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Prisvärt. Dock mycket svårt att ta kontakt med personalen vid behov. Handdukar byttes ibland inte även om de låg på golvet.
Lassi, 7-night trip

6/10 Good

Swan, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good
