This place is awesome and had everything we needed. Very clean and lots of room gor a family of 4. This house is second to none in accomodations in Akureyri. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Beautiful 2 night stay at the Historical house for our family of four. Conveniently located in a charming setting with walkable surroundings. Good option as home base for day trip to Húsavík just an hour away. Was spacious and had everything we needed. Also close to delicious Brynja ice cream shop!

Very spacious and lovely kitchen and bathroom! Creaky floors but that probably bothered downstairs more than us! Easy checkin!

Would highly recommend staying here! Very cool, interesting old building within easy walking distance from the main restaurant/shopping area. Very well decorated and we were very comfortable here. Comfy beds and good views as well

We absolutely adored this place! It's a nice mix of historic and modern design. It's extremely comfortable and a great home base in Akureyri. I wish we had stayed another night or two. Next trip!

Unique home with comfortable accommodations. Difficult to find at first but once we figured out which building and door, it was wonderful

6/10 Good

Really nice old building, easy to park, close to town. But the WiFi didn’t work, attempted to contact the property manager but no response. Also the gas stove didn’t work so we could not prepare food.

4/10 Fair

Convenient location and a cool looking old house. However the walls are paper thin, I mean being able to hear the person in the other room crumpling paper or moving blankets. The kitchen was odly stocked (no deep bowls for cereal, no scissors etc), and there was a posted cleaning fee, but nothing provided to clean with. Also no laundry faciltiies in a longer term stay isnt great either. Also in places the paint was chipping, and the upstairs neigbors (different ones) woke us up all week, and downstairs too

Great location with a great view! The loft is very unique and charming and has everything you need! I just wouldn’t recommend if you’re traveling with older people or with kids because of the stairs. Other than that, it’s perfect!

6/10 Good

We had flies in the unit and no flyswatter or spray to get rid of them (we could not determine where they were coming in from as no windows were open). The contact phone number on the information card did not work and the email sent to the email address on the information card was not deliverable. The wifi code on the information card did not work (we were able to get it off the router). The unit was charming and the historical building is cool but it is unclear whether the keypad code is changed after guests check out. Easy walk to the shopping and restaurant area.

This was an incredibly charming renovated space with gorgeous layout and a full kitchen. My only caveat is that I am immune compromised and putting incense sticks out in the living room made it unpleasant. They were completely unnecessary

8/10 Very good

Really enjoyed our stay here – nice, clean property. Easy to get to, property located at edge of town Myvatn direction – bridge end. Good, clearly defined parking. We stayed for two nights. Ground floor, bright and spacious, nice kitchen area with coffee machine. Lounge area with big tv. Only possible issue is you can hear people walking about in room/apartment above, but honestly that didn't effect our stay at all. Walked into town, easy to do along quite roads/paths. Ice cream parlour across the road. Botanical gardens close by – really worth a visit. Drove to local supermarkets. Would go back to happily.

2/10 Poor

I’m sure the hotel and surroundings were beautiful but we never got to stay there. We had a family medical emergency that caused us to cancel our 10 day Iceland vacation and family wedding. Despite numerous calls and emails well in advance of our reservation, the management refused to budge on refunding or even crediting us for the $1000 CAD bill we had pre-paid. All the other 5 hotels we had booked in Iceland were understanding and gave us the refund. I and my family were extremely disappointed with this outcome.
