The Hotel Aura House was clean and in an excellent location. However, the AC wasn't working and we had to sleep the first night without AC with an 83F temperature. I am grateful that Hotels.com helped us out and they changed the Hotel for Us to Bali Posh Hotel, that was an upgraded stay. Thank you.

This is self check-in. I would have appreciated knowing that our room was on the first floor. It looked like we had to go upstairs instead of around the building. Having mobility issues this was important for me. Maids were curt. I appreciated being able to store luggage (at our own risk) prior to 3pm check-in. Room looked pretty nice.

When you go to the site to book it states two queen beds in one room and a king bed in the other.. not true when you get there it’s two king beds. I was going with two older ladies. Plus the pictures are nothing what you find when you arrive.. it’s runned down and we didn’t feel safe. We ended up leaving and going somewhere else. They wouldn’t work with us and they argued with me even though I sent photos of what I saw while booking. Very disappointing and not in a safe area. No food places around either.

Aura House was a pleasant stay overall. The room was clean with simple yet modern decorations. The guest house is recently renovated with a simple but charming exterior. I enjoyed spending time on the roof in the lounge chairs provided. It was a quick walk to the beach, local coffee, and cuisine. It was a great deal for the location in the beautiful Isla Verde. Some guests had difficulties with checking in as there was no front desk—only a lobby area. Passcodes were used and some had not received confirmations. WiFi was very slow in the bedroom, so I had to use the lobby/lounge which was cozy and provided water as well as an assortment of teas. Overall it was a very pleasant and met my needs as an individual traveler looking for some self care. Thank you!

Unfortunately the room didn't look like the photos, so they must not have put the photo of the unit we got on their website or listing. It was just a bed and walls, no decor, no charm even the furniture on the rooftop was different / lacking. There was no smoking signs up but a chair outside our unit and multiple people during our stay were smoking in that chair. Tiny bugs flying inside the unit not just around sink drain but on and around beds. My daughter got bit multiple times in her bed. No where to put your suitcase, as I said no decor just beds, not even a chair. People constantly yelling down hallway and because our door didn't fit doorway (you could literally see outside through bottom) we could hear everything. The common area space never had water in the hot/cold water dispenser, even after notifying the worker. Just unfortunate...won't rebook again.

There was no WiFi or cellphone service in my room. The TV had no cable and was only internet based so there was no tv either. I had to go to the office and use the WiFi to download movies on my phone to watch. They said they had breakfast but all they did was brew a pot of coffee at 8:30. I saw two couples were overbooked when I got there and they had nowhere to go and weren’t given assistance with finding another place. One of the rooms had a bathroom overflow and the walkway had standing sewage for 2 days that everyone had to walk through to get to the other rooms. There’s no one on site to talk to at check in, and it’s hit or miss if they will answer the phone number provided. It’s a very loud property as well. You can hear everything. People come and go up to 2 in the morning. The room doors have a 1/2 inch gap under them so you hear everything. There’s no extra locks on the doors and you feel like someone can walk in at any time. Very overpriced for an underwhelming hostel.
