This was a perfect find. If you’re looking for peace & quiet this is the place. There are 8 treehouse like huts that offer privacy & are spaced out. If you love nature and seek privacy & to be away from the crowds then look no further! It’s close enough to town, so when you do venture out, you wont need to drive far. I recommend exploring the area & beyond. To do so without a worry you will need a 4x4. The owners are very nice & are happy to accommodate in any way. We will definitely be returning when we come back to the

Super relaxing and quiet stay- great views!

Lovely small, privat and quiet hotel. This hotel is for you if you prefer a bit more remote retreat with the chance to go into Tamarindo and on the beach for bits of your stay and otherwise prefer secluded and quiet with a fabulous view. That’s what we were looking for and we definitely found it here. Super relaxing! Delicious food and lovely owners and staff including resort dog Charlie ❤️

This beautiful property is located in the hills above Tamarindo with an amazing view of the ocean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The guest accommodations are modern, spacious and private. We loved listening to the birds and the Howler monkeys and just enjoying the awesome view from our room. Relaxing poolside and cooling off in the infinity pool was a treat. Peaceful, quiet, elegant...Pacific Kalokairi is a sanctuary in this area. Highly recommended!

Booked this place without knowing the geography of Tamarindo too well. Tamarindo in a busy little town, and I really enjoyed being a short distance from it at Kalokairi. It’s a short walk from town in the hills. The view of the coast is stunning. The rooms are beautiful, and the staff is extremely kind. Only good things to say for this experience.

The Perfect Getaway

My husband and I were excited to escape for the holidays, and Pacific Kalokairi exceeded our expectations. This isn't your typical hotel; the rooms are spread out across the stunning property, ensuring privacy with no shared walls. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable, and full of natural light. Each morning, we had coffee on our patio, listening to the birds and howler monkeys. The on-site restaurant, managed by a 5-star chef, was a major highlight of our stay. We dined there for nearly every meal during our 7-day visit, and each dish was thoughtfully crafted and exquisite. The hotel staff—Virginia, Carlos, Hernán, Maria, and Charly (the sweetest hotel "guard" dog)—welcomed us like old friends, making our departure even more difficult. Just a 6-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo, it's easy to explore the area at your leisure. We highly recommend renting a 4wd to discover the beautiful beaches beyond Tamarindo. We can't wait to go back!

What an amazing hotel! We felt like we were staying in a fancy bungalow on our family’s property. The family who own and run this business truly put their hearts and souls into making the space beautiful, clean and peaceful. The salt water infinity pool is perfect. There were days where we were the only guests who weren’t off on an adventure, so we had the pool (and bar) to ourselves. The food and drinks were excellent. Quality that you would get at a 5 star resort or restaurant. The (free/included) shuttle goes down to Tamarindo 4 times a day- 10AM, 3PM, 6PM and 9PM. If you want to go to town at different times , the hotel calls a taxi for you. The taxi is a short 5-10 min drive, and costs ~$12USD. Highlights: - service/staff; kind humans making sure you have everything you need - Charlie/Charley (sp?) , the family/ resort dog , who is such a good boy - Location- close to town (2kms), but in the jungle. Wonderful experience! My husband and I have been to Tamarindo many times, but this was our first time staying at Pacific Kalokairi. The personal attention we received and overall attentiveness of the staff was truly exceptional. Virginia and Sylvia took excellent care of us and made sure we took advantage of local hidden gems and several lesser-known beaches and attractions. The private bungalows were very nice, beds were comfortable and the view from our room and balcony was stunning. We watched spectacular sunsets from our balcony every evening and enjoyed a daily swim in the infinity pool, which offers a panoramic view of the ocean. Our room was kept immaculate by the cleaning service, and the small fridge and coffee maker provided were welcome accommodations. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent at Pacific Kalokairi and would highly recommend it to other travelers seeking to explore Tamarindo. This retreat offers a quiet, peaceful atmosphere with regular glimpses of monkeys and other wildlife, yet it’s only a few minutes from downtown Tamarindo’s shops, restaurants and beaches. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss on your next trip to Costa Rica.

My wife and I enjoy traveling and staying at places that are clean, scenic, and safe. This place exceeded our expectations. We stayed for a total of 4 nights. Virginia is very responsive through WhatsApp and answered our questions prior to and during our stay. She is kind and very friendly. We didn’t rent a car so we depended on the hotel shuttle to get to the city. If the times do not align with your plan for the day Virginia/her family can set up taxis to pick you up from a specific location to the hotel or vice versa. Which brings me to my only complaint - we were told by the hotel that it was $10 flat rate to the drop off point in the city. However there were two times where we were overcharged by the taxi driver. The rate has nothing to do with the stay itself/the hotel, but it was frustrating that there seemed to be a miscommunication between the taxi drivers and the hotel, which resulted in inaccurate information being conveyed to us. It wasn’t about the money, but rather the fact that we were thrown off about the cost. Otherwise, fantastic hotel and incredible service. Would highly recommend!

The staff was amazing and the resort is beautiful and spotless! Great breakfast… would love to see more muffins and croissants offered. Dinner options are very European, and elegantly presented. Would recommend going into Tamarindo for dinner/lunch options as well! LaGosta Beach Club is a must for a beach day!

10 out of 10 - Immaculate

I cant say enough about this place, we only stayed for one night at the end of a week long trip all over Costa Rica, this place is a paradise. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The property is in immaculate shape inside and out, the yard and pool are kept clean, the room was spotless. You get what you pay for is very true, its a little more expensive than others in the area, but the privacy, the beauty, the comfort, and the service are well worth the price.

I want to keep this place a secret to myself. I don’t normally write reviews. But this place is so magical that I have to. I was immediately messaged after I booked the hotel. They arranged transportation for me from the airport. It is my first time to Costa Rica. And I travelled solo. I have never felt so safe. The minute you walk into the property, you are well taken care of. I could literally turn off my mind, and let them take care of things for me. They helped me books a surf lesson. The instructor was excellent ! I stood up on the board ! The food is out of this world. I tried the tapas tasting menu. I loved it so much that it’s like I am in Spain. (The chef is from Spain!). They helped me booked yoga classes. The studio is 2 min walk from the hotel. They arranged their own shuttle services for their guests to town. So I did not have to worry about transportation when I was there. The staff are extremely attentive and helpful. They can predict what you need and take care of it for you before you even ask. This is a paradise. Don’t even have to think and just book it. I will surely come back !
