Lovely hotel in a great setting with very comfortable rooms . My only criticism would be the lack of interest at breakfast from the staff who were more interested in chatting or being on their phones than paying attention to customers which was a real shame as the food was lovely

Hotel Belmar was magnificent! Everything about it was pristine. The service was so friendly. Staff were so genuinely kind, helpful, & welcoming. They upgraded our room & the view from the balcony was gorgeous. I really cant say enough great things about this place. We ate at the restaurants & everything was delicious. Location was perfect to the cloud forest reserve.

We had the best time for our honeymoon at Hotel Belmar! They treated us whenever they could. The staff were so friendly and helpful at every turn and every member of staff seemed to know everyone's name. We took advantage of the onsite experiences by having a couple's massage, doing the night walk, swimming in the lake, using the whirlpool, free beer tasting and excellent food from the restaurant.

This was a beautiful home away from home. It’s a little outside of town so you definitely need a car to stay there. They have a cute Brewery on site where they actually brew their own beer as well as as a nice reflection pond. Jacuzzi was not working, which was disappointing. The restaurant was really nice. The food was beautifully presented but a bit expensive for what it was. Overall, the grounds and staff were wonderful.

Paradise

This is the most wonderful place ever. Concern for the environment is over the top, so refreshing and necessary, I wish every place was like this in the world at this point. The rooms were perfect, luxurious and the food and beverages were amazing. Yoga was nice and the brewery/hot tub and coffee shop with homemade kombucha were fabulous. The farm to table food is unreal. Strongly suggest anyone stay here, we didn't want to leave!

Great place to stay.

Great stay. The rooms were nice and very clean. The views and location are great. The restaurant was good--we liked breakfast but service was slow. I think they are understaffed and a bit overworked. Some of the servers were amazing (the guy who works at the beer garden--amazing). The best part was the beer garden--great food and great drinks. Great for kids. We will come back here.

Nice hotel, noisy room

Room 15 was noisy. ( Forest Room) . It’s often windy in Monteverde . Our room door to balcony had a small gap so the wind whistles all night . The furniture on the balcony hangs from chains . As the wind blew occasionally there would be a large bang as the furniture swung too ferociously. Don’t buy breakfast at $30pp. There is a La carte where each dish is between $12 and$ 16 . A dish of fruit and coffees are complementary so unless you go big you will find it hard to get to $30. The views are great but not unique in Monteverde

Wonderful hotel

We had a wonderful stay at this fantastic hotel right in the heart of Monteverde. Our room was modern and comfortable with amazing rainforest views. The on-site amenities are top-notch - beer garden (with great food and homemade beer), jacuzzi, yoga classes, juice bar - and everything at the hotel is done sustainably. The hotel's own farm (Finca Madre Terra) provides most of the restaurant's ingredients, including the cheeses, and every dish we tried was amazing. As a non-drinker, I was also very pleased by the delicious mocktails. We also booked a Horseback Riding experience at Finca Madre Terra through the hotel and it was a highlight of our Costa Rica trip. We had a fantastic stay. (PS - don't skip the walking path, we saw so many white faced capuchins!)

Wonderful for couples

Amazing! Service was excellent in all interactions. Diego handled our check in with ease and delivered our bags to our room. He provided a hot towel and refreshing hibiscus ice tea, which were welcome after a day of traveling. Food and drinks at the microbrewery and in the restaurant were excellent. Presentation was always 5 stars. Our room was spacious and private as described, with a large wrap around balcony. The balcony soaking tub was spectacular and, as this area is covered, we were able to enjoy even when it rained. Room service and housekeeping were excellent. We booked a couples hot stone massage and left that fully relaxed. Thank you to Gloria and Maggi. We were within easy driving distance to town and local attractions. Parking was secure. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if visiting Monteverde.

This is a unique property. Its buildings and decor look part ski chalet, part summer camp, which is part of the charm. oh, the views from our deck sitting on top of the cloud forest were divine. The staff are behind friendly and helpful. Without a car we were somewhat captive there for our two days, but the meals were very, very good. We took a fun tour through the dry forest adjacent to the property and did some tree “climbing” which was great fun. We arranged rides from the airport and to our next area from the Belmar, and they were affordable and professional. Would highly highly recommend!

Mountainview hotel with craft brewery on property

This was our first trip to Monteverde and it won't be our last. Hotel room was clean and bed was comfortable. Loved the view from our balcony. All the employees are warm and welcoming. When we mentioned we were celebrating our 30th anniversary upon check-in, they had a beautiful note and a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room. What a wonderful surprise!! I would highly recommend signing up for the Savia Nightfall tour. Our tour guide, Daniel, was amazing! He is very knowledgable and passionate about his work. The onsite craft brewery is an added bonus feature. Be sure to catch the beer tasting event! Isaac was very knowledgeable and welcoming. We also enjoyed the food at the brewery. We will definitely stay here again.
