Great location. The lobby which used to be one of the hottest spots in NYC now looks like something out of The Shining. Totally deserted. But for the price of the rooms it was a useful stay.

The hotel lobby was nice and staff was good. Our room was gross. Had a musty smell and was very dirty. The shower was filled with MOLD. The toilet had stains on it. I had to disinfect this entire room before touching anything in it. Definitely NOT worth it.

This is a glorified hostel with essentially no amenities. No cups, no coffee, no restaraunt and a weird round bathtub that one has to stand in to take showers. The hotel feels like a ghost town. The only redeeming feature was the staff were excellent and helpful; many of them long timers from the glory days of Royalton 25 years ago. The better Royalton is the one on Park Avenue which has a pool bar restaraunt and full service. Stay there and don't stay at the Royalton New York.

The room was not what they had pictured on the website. It felt really old and outdated. Also, there is no more bar and restaurant. They closed it during the pandemic and never re-opened so that wasn't ideal. The room was decent size for New York so that was a plus but otherwise I would likely not stay here again.

I was down in nyc for a convention and concert. The hotel was a perfect place for any trips to the theater district or times square. The staff was nice and attentive, the room was clean and even recleaned when I stepped out and returned a few hours later. I will definitely use them again in the future.

The Royalton has seen better days. The lobby is a cavernous wasteland of empty sofas and chairs=empty barstools (as they have no bar or any type of food in the building) There are no facilities, at all. One side of the lobby they do not even provide heat! The level of service at the hotel also leaves much to be desired, and when the rooms are only 250 square feet or less, there are far better options in NYC.Further be advised that if you travel with more than 2 bags, they may not fit in the elevator.
