We stayed at the Shearers Quarters and it was a lovely stay. There was a dedicated parking space, beautiful bathroom with soaking tub and comfortable king size bed. Easy walking access into town and helpful hosts. Our stargazing tour was canceled due to cloudy weather but the office for that was right down the street.

From the moment we arrived we were met with a fantastic friendly welcome. Our host explained everything very clearly and gave excellent recommendations for where to go and where to eat. She was lovely. This was the highlight of our trip- what a gorgeous apartment with the most stunning views we’ve ever had from an apartment. We honestly could not recommend this place more highly! Our stay at the Mackenzie Suites was very nice. Our host was amazing, very freindly. Even as we had the smalles apartment (as she apologized for) it was really comfy and spacious. It was very clean with a good view of Lake Tekapo. The suites are a litle outside. If you don´t want to use the car it will be 15-20 minutes by foot until you reach the centre.

I almost feel bad giving this property only five stars as my family and I strongly feel that this property deserves at least seven stars. Never had such a smooth check-in process. The location of the property is unbelievable. It is located very close to Lake Tekapo. When we woke up in the morning, we couldn't believe the view in front of us. The place had been maintained very well. The facilities were amazing. There was a minor confusion about a fee being charged but the owners understood the miscommunication involved and handled it in a very classy way. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay in the proximity of Lake Tekapo and enjoy the beauty of the location.

It’s a pity that we only stayed one night. We didn’t use all the facilities available to us. Good quiet location and on a clear night, we might have been able to see the milky way from the back of the property. Only downside was that there was no laundry facilities available for the apartment. That’s not really a major point as we normally hand wash with a Scrubba bag anyway.
