We stayed 3 nights and totally enjoyed the private onsen in our room. The room was clean, though it was small.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the property and surroundings were quiet, it was nice that the property was sitting next to a very clean river.
The hotel offers free transport from Kagoshima airport which made it possible for us to get there.
Thank you to all the staff work there to make our stay so pleasent.

Food was poor. Service was poor. Room was tiny.
Price was high. Not satisfied. But a hot tub in a room was good.

Very local experience. Private onsen in room which was clean and nice. Dinner was very reasonable and very good. Room rate was not inexpensive but was overall a good stay.

The property didn't reply to my request for clarification on how to get there.
-Extremely small room, with no windows. The roof window was obfuscated.
-Extremely noisy room. Sound-proofing is extremely poor : from my room, I could distinctly hear the never-ending music from the hallway, and voices from other rooms. Terribly loud ventilation fans.
Uncomfortable bed. No desk to speak of. Two hangers.
This place is designed for a one-night stay. Same default dinner every night. With two other choices for guests staying more than one night. No cook : you'll get pre-cut meat and vegetables that you will cook on a hot plate (if you stay one night), or in boiling water (if you stay longer. Not sure what the third choice is). The appetizer and dessert are the same every night.
While the place is surrounded with beautiful mountains, the premises themselves are ugly. I mentioned the absence of windows in the room. There are no windows in the cafeteria either. There is a courtyard, but it seems it was designed to make it impossible to enjoy the view. It all felt weirdly sadistic.
The place is very isolated, so you'll need a car. But, really, just go elsewhere (Kokubu?).
The place was under construction work (not mentioned anywhere, I believe?). So the public bath was not available. And the courtyard was a mess. By the looks of it, work won't be over anytime soon, and the place won't get any better. There is hardly a tree on the premises. It's only concrete, and it's getting worse.
