2/10 Poor

Room is small and old
Ka Kee, 4-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Hotel rooms were, perhaps, typical of an older hotel, decorations a bit tired - as were carpets - but adequate. Our first room had a large stain on the bathroom ceiling which the staff identified and arranged our move to a bigger and better room. This really impressed us because it didn't require any complaining from us. Quite how it should be. All in all the staff were excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. We would certainly visit again.
Philip Robert, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The room was small but clean, very minimal facility’s. Bed was comfy and shower/bathroom were average. The free parking was great. The fact I had to choose what time I wanted my breakfast the next morning wasn’t great. Who knows what time they might want their breakfast! The choice of having it when you want (within breakfast hours) would be much more preferred, we missed out slot due to sleeping in so I can’t rate the food. Hotel is in a great spot. Not far from anywhere and if you’re in the car you leave it literally at the door! I would stay here again but would upgrade the room.
Barry, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Really dated hotel, heating in the room was on full blast with no way of turning it down so the room was like a sauna. To counteract the heat a window was left open and a fan in the room was turned on during the first night of my stay but the dust inside the fan just made me really ill as I had been breathing it in all night. Suffered without the fan on for the rest of my stay so I didn’t make my health worse. Such a shame as the staff were lovely.

It is the ideal venue for a 'traditional' seaside holiday stay, particularly for the 'older' guest (like us). Although it is not the most up to date, that is part of the attraction, and the service is impeccable.

Sci-fi Scarborough

I stayed at the Palm hotel for a business weekend. The hotel was very clean. Good choice of options for evening meals. Breakfast options were excellent. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. Really good location only five minutes drive from the railway station and minutes to the venue I was attending.

Nice 1 night stay. The only issue was at night the lounge area was a bit cold.
STEVEN, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Room was a little dated and a bit too warm but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was the best we have ever had in a hotel - made to order and a lot of choice with professional, friendly service We also ate in the lounge one evening and both the service and the food were excellent
Sarah, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

The room had an unpleasant smell and there was barely enough space to walk around the bed.
Alexandru, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The bedroom we had was a little tired but plenty of towels tea/coffee etc. The beds are really comfortable but the pillows were flat and almost useless. The communal area's are clean and very comfortable. Great breakfast with great choice and quality produce. We ate in the restaurant and the food was of great quality with great presentation. Well stocked bar with reasonable prices no higher than the local bars. We had a pleasent first time stay and hopefully will be back. Thank you to all the staff
Paul, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

A lovely hotel with average food.

This hotel looks good and feels good when you stay here. It’s so close to the shopping centre and with free parking, this was a bonus. Staff are so nice and friendly and go that extra mile for you. Stayed for two nights over the weekend. The food, however was delightfully average. We had a meal in the lounge on arrival. Fish and chips and fish cakes. The batter on both oozed fat and was quite unpleasant. Breakfast was also average. Cooked breakfast- sausage was anaemic, mushrooms slightly leathery and bacon fat not sufficiently rendered. Poached eggs were a delight as was the toast. All in all a very pleasant stay in an hotel with a lovely atmosphere. Food the only let down. Would still return though.
Gerry, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The one thing what let them down was the 10 percent vouchers they give out in check in for the Resturant & Longe food. The duty manager when checking out and I was paying said you cannot have the 10 percent off food because it’s up to us to hand in to staff when ordering! Like I quoted the staff never got you to sign for food or give you the chance to accept these vouchers. No good blaming the customers and saying it’s too late to take off when I’m paying my bill! They need to train the staff to do there job better and maybe the 10 percent would get taking from their food bill. Did not like the duty managers attitude and cleverness with me when it’s not my fault! I did not budge and told her this, train your staff better to take orders & take the vouchers off!
Jacqueline, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

We chose this hotel as it offered free overnight parking. However, hubby needed a buggy to get about which are banned at the hotel. The lift isn’t what I’d call completely H&S safe. No door to the front and as it moves floors quite unsafe. The rooms unbearably hot. Even with windows open and a fan on all night. The beds uncomfortable and I felt like I was falling out due to one side collapsing on the mattress. The rooms are very small. The two of us couldn’t sit at the little table as not enough room and had to walk around the bed side ways. The shower didn’t work properly. Breakfast ok. The plastic around the black pudding was left on when cooked. Scrambled egg was watery and grape stems found in the fresh fruit. Certainly not worth the price. All the meals were over priced. Then there’s the so called over sensitive fire alarm that goes off at the drop of a hat. No one came to tell us all was well. So could have burnt to death. They wouldn’t care. When we complained, the general manager tried to make out we were being over sensitive. The staff do the best they can. But not really bothered as they roll there eyes thinking, here we go this is another one moaning. Save your money and go to a b&b.
Jan, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Positives: good breakfast, nice staff and service, free parking, bed was comfortable Negatives: our room was quite dated, squeaky floor, no sockets on the sides of the bed. Bathroom with stained and ruined floor, a chipped tile, old squeaky bath tub. When we entered the room the windows were open and it was smelly like a fish and chips shop, they couldn't do anything apart from providing a freshener that didn't get rid of the odour. Ok for a night but rooms need to be updated! overall not sure I will be back
Giulia, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Parking was included in a private car park 50yds round the corner which was open all day and I believe secured overnight. Very handy as Scarborough is a pain to park in.
Neil, 1-night trip
