I had reserved a two night stay for a wedding this past weekend. When I went to check in, the hotel staff told me that I no longer had a room there, even though it had been reserved for a month. I was told they allowed someone to extend their stay, which took up my room. What's the point of reserving a room if you don't get it to begin with.
The Manager wouldn't cover both nights at another hotel, so because of Marriott's mistake, I lost out on money. They are supposed to be a good chain, even a partner of the NFL as they proudly proclaim with signs, but they have horrible business and customer service.
