In short: Poor standard of cleaning/lack of routines for cleaning drains, no A/C working, misinformation on supplying fan and in general, staff could be more forthcoming.
Upon check-in we were told that the room was ready, and she just wanted housekeeping to have a final check of the room before we would get the key. She would notify us in 10 minutes. After 25 minutes of waiting I went to the reception to ask how much longer it would be, as we would rather leave our luggage and explore Milan than to sit and wait for the room. Her colleague then said the room was ready and we got our keys. When we came to our room it was very warm and we tried to get the A/C working. It didn’t seem to work, so I asked about this in the reception. She said they were working on the system, and it should be OK in a few hours. So we went to explore Milan. When we came back, the system was still not working and it was really warm in our room. We could open the window but that would mean that the sun was shining directly into our room due to the open curtains, making it even warmer. To cool down, we needed a shower, but it turned out the shower drain was clogged, and water was spilled all over the floor. We had to use the bathrobes to contain the excess water. We informed about this in the reception on our way out, and they promised this would be fixed straight away. When we returned, the towels and robes were replaced and all seemed fine.
