Beautiful place!

Lovely B&B in a good location. The room was beautiful and spotless—pictures did not do it justice! Breakfast was delicious. Had a little communication difficulty via check in, but turned out fine—need to arrange time as there isn’t someone on site all the time. There is nowhere to pull up to unload luggage—we ended up using the restaurant parking lot behind them just for unloading and loading, then parking for free in a lot a couple of blocks away. Parking on the street is free between 6 PM and 9 AM, but not always available.

I loved the decor and space of the apartment, large comfy beds with premium mattresses! Aircon in all rooms, wonderful balcony, great kitchen just no oven. Only problem was the shower tray often filled up but I presume the drain just needed cleaning! It was a wonderful stay and the hosts were so kind and very helpful. Will definitely be staying here again!

Cute apartment suite - Portimao

Have to say, this is one of the nicest places I stayed at. Place was super clean, well maintained and service was top notch. A bit of a challenge checking in as the individual checking me in did not speak English and there wasn’t anyone else around. She showed me the room, had to send a message to obtain the wifi code and code for main building so I could use the pool facility. After that it was smooth sailing. The staff at the main building were so kind. I had the apartment suite with the entrance in another part of the building but it was super easy to get to. Travellers should expect some noise as you are in the busy part of town. All in all, I loved this place and highly recommend staying here.

This was such a different experience than you get at the big chain hotels. Villa Rio is intimate, cozy, easily accessible and so accommodating. I highly recommend it if you're going to be in Portimao for a short visit.
