Older hotel that needs some refurbishing

Hotel Viking is an older historic hotel so that is totally understood, but it really needs to be refurbished. The lobby and restaurant are bright and cheery, but the hallways and rooms are dark. The decor is just older and a bit dreary. Valet parking attendants are awesome young men. Front desk personnel not so personable. Location of the hotel is good. Beds are very comfy and cleanliness of the room was acceptable. Our stay was fine but I would prefer a more modern hotel next time.
