The room was great, but there were some poor management issues on the way the hotel was run. One day they did some construction on some drawers for the lobby and were operating a table saw 15 feet from my window. Couldn’t those have been cut to fit somewhere else?? At least with a long extension cord far across the parking lot, if not somewhere else entirely. Also… One morning there was a fire alarm before 6am, but the front desk person showed no interest in telling anyone what was going on. She just went over and turned off the alarm and then went back to the desk. The lobby was full of people. People were standing outside in the cold. I went up and asked. She said it was the kitchen. I asked if it was a problem or did they just burn something. She slowly went to check and told me they just burned some sausages. I asked, can we just go back to bed, and she said, yes. But she still never lifted her head from her desk, never made any announcement to the other people in the room, certainly never told anyone to spread the word to the people outside the other exits. And it was the second fire alarm during my stay. Clearly there should be more training on how to handle them.
