OK, but food needs to improve.

New hotel, so looked fresh... Location is not on the beach, have to cross the busy road, but the high floor rooms view was great. Big disappointment was the restaurant food, this was a big fail, not having enough choices or local Vietnamese food.

Sel De Mer is the place to stay when in Da Nang, we were on the 24th floor with amazing views day and night, opposite the beach. Room was spacious and a balcony looking out over the beach. Room service was great, and house keeping was fantastic. The staff here go above and beyond to make your stay special, always with a smile. Buffet breakfast had a great selection of foods, always fresh and well stocked. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re heading to Da Nang, easy walk or catch a grab to the markets and bars/restaurants - 5 Star for everything.

Hotel is not a 5 star property. The customer service is amazing but the property is run down. Showers had mold spots. Floors are worn out. Only 3 elevators for entire property.

Great View Very comfy

Room was on the seafront very spacious and clear view of the ocean. The room was very comfortable, however the noise from directly outside was very noisy from the bar across the road.

Perfect hotel with a great ocean view

I did a lot of research on hotels on the beach front and this one came up on top. I wanted a beach front balcony with chairs, breakfast included, pool and onsite restaurant and bar. This hotel delivered on all accounts though sadly it was too cold and rainy during our stay to use the pool. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the best so far on our 6 week south east Asia trip. Sheets and towels were of good quality. We experienced no noise at all in the room other than the lapping of the waves on the beach. I’m a light sleeper and really appreciated how quiet the hotel was. Breakfast was great, cappuccino, fruit, egg station, cheeses, pastries and lots of Asian dishes as well. We arrived at different times and there was always seating available and food replenished for later seatings. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the door man was always there to meet us with an open umbrella when we stepped out of the taxi on rainy days. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and the food at their restaurant and bar was also very good.

The stay we've had has been top level (9 nights) From us arriving to the day we left the staff have been absolutely brilliant, very attentive and ultra friendly. we stayed in a junior suite city which was very clean and spacious with a great view over the city, the bathroom facilities were great with a powerful shower and a deep bath. The bed was perfect for me and the mrs (medium/firm). Breakfast provided more than enough options for even the pickiest of people, ranging from a hot to cold selection of traditional world breakfasts offerings and even included rices,noodles and curries, there was plenty of pastries and fruits on offer too, along with a great selection of hot and cold drinks, (the Vietnamese coffee was my favourite). Location wise it's near on perfect, literally a stones throw from the beach and just a short walk to the 24/7 shop and local restaurants and just a couple of thousand dong for a grab/taxi to the busier parts of danang. All in all this 5 star review I've written and those before mine all stand true, not a single regret from us at all and if we were to return to danang I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

It was our first time staying a Sel de Mer and we had an amazing experience. Check in was smooth, room was very spacious and clean. No stong bleach smell like other hotels we’ve stayed at. We had breakfast included which was very nice, everything was fresh and not too heavy. We had no issues with staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful. My partner used the gym facilities which he said were great. My only criticism was the pool area which lost its sun very early in the day. But overall great experience.

Beautiful hotel and great views.

The hotel was wonderful. Modern but in keeping with the location. The hotel was located on one side of the beach so we had a great blend of quiet and bustle just a few minutes walk down the beach. If you want to get to town it’s a 40mins walk but it wasn’t a huge issue for us. The views were amazing on our floor, we requested a balcony and sea view and it didn’t disappoint. The room was spacious and well equipped. The facilities at the hotel was great - the breakfast was fantastic, a great offer of weather and eastern cuisine. I used their spa facilities and the massage and facial was divine. The pool was lush! Very easy to order drinks to the pool side and the infinity pool and views were incredible. Really recommend this hotel - we loved the experience especially if you’re looking for a few days of R&R.

TEN OUT OF TEN IN EVERY RESPECT. We absolutely loved our stay here, everything was perfect. Staff are extremely well trained , very competent, super friendly and helpful. Each and every member of staff strive for perfection. The cleanliness of the hotel is superb, the lobby smells divine, lemon grass I think?? The aesthetics and decor of the interior is lovely. The views of the beach from the balcony were stunning. Breakfast there is so much choice but most importantly of good quality. The location for My Khe beach is perfect, several seafood restaurants within walking distance, also a few small supermarkets. Grab taxi is cheap to get around and see the sights. My only suggestion would be to do a "happy hour" at the roof bar as when we went there one evening there was nobody up there so it lacked a bit of atmosphere but this is not a complaint in anyway, just a suggestion. Beautiful hotel with beautiful staff. If we ever find ourselves in Danang again (we hope so) we would stay here again without hesitation. We were sad to leave. Thank you to all the staff, you work so hard to please everyone. *We did note at breakfast one morning two guests were so rude to a member of staff because she asked to clarify their room number. Despicable behaviour, they should be ashamed. Sorry this happened to a lovely staff member. We love you Sel-De-Mer!

I start with cons, since they are more important and make pros not important. The cons are not about the hotel itself, but about surroundings that make stay in the hotel almost unbearable. If we had known the cons, we would have never stayed there. So, our advice is to stay somewhere along the beachline to the north (7 km to the north) near the Lady Budda, of 10 km dowb to the south (closer to Marble Mountains). Those areas are not well developed, but your should be able to enjoy quietness at night. Cons: 1. Outdoor karaoke all around the hotel until midnight or even later. The hotel staff can call police only after 10pm and only to karaoke that are in immediate proximity to the hotel. However, terribly loud noise coming from karaokes from much further. So go ahead and stay there if you are planning to get a breakdown on the very first night of your vacation. 2. The terrible smell just outside the hotel from the neighboring street seafood restaurant. They put huge garbage bins with rotting leftovers right on the sidewalk. Not mentioning that the bins just next to the tables. So, you can imagine the rich aroma the bins produce in the morning after a night outside at 40 C. I wonder if hotels and local don't understand that without the smell and karaoke Da Nang would be a much higher level resort. Pros: 1. The hotel itself is modern and clean. 2. The staff is friendly. 3. The breakfast is good with wide variety of eastern and western options.
