It's the hot summer months and the Boulders is running an amazing price for rooms. The property and golf course are beautiful and the rooms (Casitas) are spacious and fun - so different from generic hotel rooms.
Bed was comfy, love the tile floors and the large bathroom with dual sinks and walk in closet.
The area (Cave Creek) is historic and super cute with good shopping and dining options.
Property may be falling a bit behind in maintenance. Hot water handle on both sinks was corroded stuck, took maintenance 2 days to get 1 of them working.
AirConditioner is old and super loud (shakes the bed when it kicks on) but it kept the room reasonably chill in the major desert heat.
The Casitas are reached through wandering golf cart paths that highlight the scenery, the boulders and the desert flora. I had an early flight, so i walked to my car (they offer a golf cart service, but it was early and i wasn't sure if they were working yet). At least 8 of the pathway lights were burned out, and if you've ever been in the desert on a moonless night, it's DARK. even with the flashlight on my phone, i had to pause a couple times to see if i was going the right direction.
Given the amazing heat, i'm very surprised they don't offer any covered parking, as your car is hot as an oven any time after noon.
All in all a beautiful resort with very good service, but if it was high season and i was paying big bucks, i would have been disappointed.
