The room and hotel were clean. Maybe too clean. If you have ever rented a carpet cleaner from your local grocery store and get that associated carpet detergent, the place smelled over whelmingly like they had just cleaned all their carpets (which I suspect they did). We opened the window of our room for a couple hours, and the cleaner smell went away just fine. Honestly, I was glad to know that they were cleaning carpets. Breakfast was weak. Couple different fruit and drinks. No protein, no bagels. Overall, good stay and I'd stay again.

Super 8 fit my desire for a safe and convenient place to stay near Virginia Tech. Staff were friendly and kind and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is very close to a number of restaurants, stores, and the university, and it was the best price of the hotels I searched. Breakfast is quite sparse, and the amenities and general "feel" are fairly no-frills, but it fit the bill for my purposes, and I had a very nice experience.

Only complaint was a damp mustiness in my room upon entering (1st floor, which I needed due to heavy luggage and no elevator).
