I booked a two night stay to complete some work - I needed good WiFi and quiet. I got it. The room could've been cleaned better, particularly the bathroom where there were hairs. The bathroom needed maintenance: water leaked under the shower screen in the walk-in shower, the handles on the bath were wobbly and enamel was missing, there was no cold water (it was like warm, which meant having a drink of cold water wasn't possible in the room).

This seemed like a nice hotel with a lot of room choices. It was a bit of a maze. The staff were very good and helpful. Some of the food was way over priced. I ordered the butterfly chicken breast, which was £19.95 and all that turned up was a chicken breast, a small portion of warm fries, 1/2 a tomato and 1/2 a charred onion. A bigger bowl of chips on the menu was £5.95, making the chicken, tomato and onion £15! The staff were very good however and understood. They sorted me out a replacement meal. They admitted that they often felt embarrased when they deliver food to customers as they know it's not very good value for money. I blame the hotel chain for setting the prices and I know there isn't much the staff can do about it. As I say, they were very good with handling and resolving my complaint.

We had an excellent stay. All of the staff we spoke to were super friendly and polite. The room was lovely, and the staff had gone to the extra effort to decorate for my partners birthday, which was a really nice surprise for him. We enjoyed using the spa, the bar and the breakfast buffet. It was a perfect base for exploring the local area, and somewhere we could come back and relax in the evenings. All for a very reasonable rate, would stay again.
