We were told "if we want breakfast we had to go across street to McDonalfs"

Reception at front desk was very welcoming. Despite the general run down look of the town, the hotel property displayed a positive upkeep. With this in mind, the stay was good value for money

8/10 Very good

So this is a Mom and Pop Hotel, but since Route 66 in Kansas is only a short drive, we really don't know how long it has existed. It is clean and comfy, but it is a young couple with a young family running the place, which may be a little much to handle. They were trying to host a small breakfast bar from 6 to 9, but at 6:45 no one had set it up so we went across the street and grabbed coffee at McDonald's and went on our way. There is good news, though, we tend to look for truckers staying at a place to know what is safe and clean and plenty of truckers stayed there.

Cheap

Just in town one night stayed here before cheapest hotel in the area should be even cheaper. Hotel smells musty Beds are always, uncomfortable air conditioners only work so so

No one to check in for 10 minutes. Non smoking room smells like smoking room.

Economy stay

The motel was having their roof replaced, and we didn't have TV for a few hours after checking in. We did check in early, so probably most of the guests had TV by the time they arrived. It was because the roofers had to remove the satellite dish then replace it.

The Wifi was not adequate. The signal got weaker as you walked down the hall. At the distance my room was from the office, the signal could not even be consistently found. The room had an unusual smell

Good place to just lay head and caught some ZZZZ's

It appears that they are updating the property with new flooring in the hallway & our bathroom. The room was clean, smoke detector was missing in our room, our reservation was for Queen size bed there was 2 full size beds. Breakfast: banana, box of donuts, cereal we choose to go across the street to Mc Dee for breakfast.

Received a different room type than reserved. TV didn’t work (office came to the room and fixed it). Drawers missing from the dresser. Ad showed breakfast included - but it wasn’t. Not even coffee

I wanted to stay at a motel on route 66 and decided on Baxter Inn somewhat based on the photo submitted. When I pulled in, I saw the other sides of the building with part of the paneling falling off, etc. When I went inside and had to dial a phone number to get the front desk, it seemed odd. When I went into the room, I knew I had made a mistake. The musty smell was bad. I’m glad I had a can of spray, but that didn’t help much. I used probably a quarter of the can on the drapes, the floor, the bedding and the bathroom and left for three hours to come back and find it still smelled musty. I sprayed again and went to sleep to find it still smelled musty when I woke up.

Met our expectations! It was nice.

2/10 Poor

The room and hallway were very musty stunk quite a lot. Room and bed were dirty, old furniture, bathroom had the ceiling cover off, ceiling tiles were extremely water stained and sink/mirror were bad as well. Would NOT recommend staying there.
PHILIP M, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Staff was friendly and attentive. Room was large. 1) I have never used such thin towels 2) Some of the fixtures were not great - the faucet handle came off in my hand, bureau was missing a drawer tront, sheets were stained 3) i chose this hotel because it offered breakfast. I had a choice of corn flakes, a banana or coffee.
Catherine, 1-night trip

The tv only had one channel. No hand soap or shampoo in the bathroom. It said there would be a hairdryer and there wasn’t. The was a pair of filthy house shoes left by the bed.

8/10 Very good

Good for the price.

Room was a but rougher than the photo appeared. We had dogs with us, so was giving a smoker/pet friendly room. Clean, but definitely had a smokers smell. Very quiet area.

Baxter inn was a good “just for the night” hotel idk if i would stay here for longer. It had a strange smell. Almost like this place has been kept in a bottle type of smell. The sheets did have some stains on them. The shower was nice! I enjoyed the shower. Parking was easy and it was easy to find. The staff was very friendly
Shelby, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Terrible hotel

this hotel is so uncomfortable, in room there is only 1 electric outlet so when I complain they provide 1 extension cord, also there isn't hair dryer, the bathing towel is insufficient, the blanket is plastic so doesn't soft, there isn't sugar for coffee, only there are artificial sugar, in brief this is the worst hotel I have been stayed
