The Graduate is a very unique hotel that gives guests an eclectic look at U of Iowa sports history blended with an all Iowa perspective throughout the hotel. Stayed one night while visiting the university to tour. I wanted to like this hotel but it’s not a great room layout for two parents & a teen. There was two very small mirrors, pedestal sink in bathroom the drain in shower didn’t drain, all made it hard for 3 adults to get ready for the day. The walls seemed very thin and we clearly heard our neighbors conversations. Also, the lack of bathroom fan made it very uncomfortable after 3 showers. Location is awesome, lobby cute.

We ended up having a nice one night stay but the property is a little tired. You have to walk outside into another door to get into the bar area and the whole place just seemed like it needed a renovation. We were on the sixth floor in a king bedroom and the bathroom was so small that two of us could not fit in there at the same time. I will say that the staff was very very friendly!

We enjoyed our stay at The Graduate, it is in a great location close to campus town with plenty of options for dining and shopping nearby. All of the staff we encountered from the front desk to the cleaning staff were all very welcoming, nice and accommodating. We will stay there again.
