Excellent Breakfast, But the Room Needs Serious At
We stayed in the top-floor family room at Roma Varese, which included two separate beds and a double sofa bed. Unfortunately, the overall experience in the room was not very good. While the space is generous, it was noticeably dusty upon arrival—both the room and the bathroom had not been thoroughly cleaned. To be fair, the toilet bowls and basins were spotless, but the shower floor had visible, seemingly permanent stains that made it feel unclean.
The bathroom ventilation was particularly poor. It remained musty throughout our stay and the fan was very loud, making it unpleasant to use. The double sofa bed was also quite uncomfortable—fine for a child perhaps, but not ideal for an adult. Additionally, some of the room lights didn’t work, giving the space a neglected feel. Overall, it seems the room could really benefit from a renovation, especially in terms of hardware and basic maintenance.
On a more positive note, the service at the hotel was quite good—staff were helpful and responsive when we needed assistance. The real highlight, however, was the breakfast. I was genuinely surprised by the quality and variety of food on offer. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented. After a night in a subpar room, the breakfast felt like a completely different experience—pleasant, generous, and far above what I expected.
If the rooms were brought up to the standard of the breakfast and service, this hotel could be a solid option near Roma Termini.
