We would stay here again. Lots to do in the area. The room had a faint cigarette odor, like it had been a smoking room in the past and the paint hadn't quite masked the smell. The staff was super nice.

Like staying in a European Hotel

The hotel reminded of a European style hotel. It was small, comfortable with few frills but above average in quality for the price that we paid. The continental breakfast, though limited, had a good selection that included breakfast burritos, hard boiled eggs, waffles and fresh fruit. The room was small, but had everything that we needed, specifically a refrigerator and microwave. When compared to other affordable hotels in the area, SureStay gets high marks for its overall quality and great location, close to the Farmers Market, the Grove and several excellent restaurants. I should add that they have an elevator, which was a big plus for my wife.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location near the grove which is what we wanted. Quick and easy checkin. They even had waffles, bagels and fruit for breakfast. Nice little courtyard.

This seemed at first like a just decent, although pretty basic, hotel to stay at while I was in LA for a show. But the staff here were absolutely amazing! Incredibly helpful and kind, going above and beyond. I rarely leave reviews but I wanted to give them a boost for the staff alone. Bridget in particular and the lady at the desk the night I arrived were really wonderful.

Horrible, smelly, room

The room had unpleasant smell from a combination of old, smoke, mold, and chlorine. At first we thought it would improve with the windows open, but it did not. We had a late check in, so it was not easy to move out and find a different hotel. The next morning, a room attnendant offered a diffrent room, but guess what, it smelled the same. Also, the toilet flush was not completely working . We had to hold the lever a couple of mins before the water could go down. This was defimitely not a pleasant stay.

The room we were given was hot and stuffy. The a/c unit was right beside the bed and had a very strong urine odor blowing out of it. We asked to be moved to a different room. The room we were moved had a very strong sewer smell coming out of the bathroom. Breathing that foul air is not acceptable. After the first night I tried to cancel the reservation, but the hotel would not refund my payment. Highly disappointing. Extremely unclean. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall - for a budget accomodation. It does the job. Unfortunately. We ended up checking out early as it was not for us. When I first checked in - staff was super friendly which is amazing! Big tick. However that was about all I can give positives for. Our room was tidy however the fridge rattled all night. The people above us sounded like a heard of elephants running rampant until 4am. The shower ceiling looked to almost be falling down and the carpark was super tight - if I didn’t have someone guiding me I would not have been able to get out without damaging the rental car.
