We were pleasantly surprised as neither of us had been to a spa resort before. The property is located on a hill overlooking Cuyamaca reservoir with fantastic views about 8.5 miles South of Julian.
It has a Tibetan, 60's counterculture vibe with shrines and prayer rooms, yet at no point did we find it intrusive.
The room was lovely, comfortable bed with mini fridge, microwave and a good shower with abundant hot water.
We used the outdoor Jacuzzi which set us up for a restful night's stay.
We would definitely stay again.
They have a well regarded menu which we did not partake of, as it was our impression it was vegetarian. Perhaps next time.
Our stay at the spa was the highlight of our trip as it was unexpected. We will confess that we didn't know what a wellness spa was as we are uncouth country bumpkins but will definitely be open to staying in a similar establishment in the future.
Re staff we did not have any interaction with the staff save with the exceptionally attentive check in.
The dining, breakfast area has great views.
A definite hit.
