Perfect place to stay. It's only a short drive from San Pedro with restaurants and shops. Bus tours picked us up from the hostel. Lovely big shared kitchen which was always clean and tidy. Lovely pool and plenty of seating area around. We stayed for 6 nights and loved it.

This is an awesome place. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the grounds well-kept and inviting. The location is quiet with terrific night-sky views. There’s a pool if you’d like to take a day off from seeing the Atacama. It’s gated and has parking. All-in-all, highly recommended. A few things to consider — you need a car to stay here. It’s in Coyo, which is a few miles outside of San Pedro de Atacama proper and there’s no public transport. Also, almost no English is spoken at the property. Not an issue for us and for most you should be able to navigate and make your needs known with a few words of Spanish and 21st Century technology.

Staying at the Peumayen Atacama was the highlight of our stay in the Atacama Desert. Our place was lovely, clean and quiet. Amazing host and property, stargazing views

Thanks to Carlos for being an amazing host, my friends and I felt so welcomed and safe and comfortable on the property. It is a little farther from city center so plan accordingly, Carlos was so gracious to pick us up, but it was also easy to ask for a local number to get taxi. The rooms are way more spacious than in the center and felt like a ranch, with amazing lounge areas, a pool, and views all around of Valle de la Luna and the stars

It was a spacious room but lacking appropriate facilities - toilet does not flush well and soiled toilet papers have to be collected in a garbage bin. We also found many spiders on our beds but we did open the windows, which did not have screens. Otherwise, the cabanas has many recreational facilities, e.g. swimming pool, ping pong tables etc.

The Peumayen Atacama / Hostal & Cabaña is a family-run hotel located a few kilometers south of SPDA just east of the entrance to Valle de la Luna. If you desire being immersed in the dust and congestion of San Pedro proper, this property is not for you. It is a large compound with comfortable rooms, friendly staff, large common spaces, large shared kitchen/dining facility, pool and game room. It is gated & secure with plenty of covered parking (yes, you will need a car for best access to sites in and around SPDA and use of hotel /facilities).

What an incredible place to stay! If you have a car in Atacama, this is just perfect ! We stayed with our family and enjoyed the apartment and facilities dearly . The apartment was comfortable and perfect. It had everything we needed to cook, dine, lounge, and enjoy ourselves. My kids loved the pool , trampoline , fusball table , ping pong , hammocks and the board games . Most of all the warmth of the owner Juan Carlos. We will sincerely miss him . You couldn’t ask for a more caring and hospitable man . He gave such thorough advice for what to do , where to eat , etc. We’ll miss you Juan Carlos !

Os quartos são simples mas muito limpos, como descrito nas fotos. O local fica a cerca de 8km do centro de San Pedro de Atacama, como estávamos de carro, isso não foi um problema. O hotel dispõe de uma cozinha coletiva, com fogão, geladeira e utensílios completos para cozinhar — isso ajuda muito pois o custo das refeições em San Pedro são altos. Há também uma piscina, salão de jogos e Wi-Fi grátis. José Carlos é um anfitrião extraordinário, nos fazendo sentir em casa e passando informações para as atrações locais. Definitivamente recomendado, especialmente de tiver com veículo alugado.
