For a 3-star hotel it is excellent. In front of La Gran Via and the Santo Domingo bus and metro stops, it makes moving through Madrid a breeze. Carefour grocery is nearby, so are restaurants and ice cream shops. Near Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and other landmarks in the area.

The location was great. Right on Gran Via. Property is run down. Apartments/Condo converted into hotel. A/C's temperature is the same for every room. You can't control it. We were hot. Bath is extremely, extremely small. We stayed 1 night. Don't think we will stay there again.

This property does not match the pictures. The rooms are rundown. Smartr only supplied sheets, no blankets. I had to use my single towel as a made up blanket. The room was so little there was no room to open the suitcase and it had a particular smell. I tripped many times between the bathroom and the bedroom because the divisor plate was loose. I was supposed to stay for 4 nights. After just one night I booked another place to stay. I was really bombed after having such a good experience at the Smartr Valencia.

Conveniently located

I recently stayed at Smartr Gran Vía 47 in Madrid, and overall, it was a good experience! The room had a private terrace which was really cool. And even with the hustle and bustle of gran vía right below, it was still really quiet in the room. Also the location is really central to shopping. Restaurants and nightlife which made it very convenient. That said, there were a few minor drawbacks. The bathroom was on the smaller side, and the bathtub was quite tiny, which might not suit everyone. Additionally, it took a while for the hot water to heat up, but once it did, it was fine. Despite these small issues, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend Smartr Gran Vía 47 to anyone looking for a centrally located, comfortable place. I’d definitely stay here again!

Good room but very weak Wi-Fi

The location was great the room was great the kitchen was very handy. The big problem was the very weak wi-fi. It was okay for phones but I had to work on my laptop. Laptop would connect with the Wi-Fi but then the Wi-Fi was not strong enough to call up even one page. I was unable to do any work for 2 days and lost significant amount of money because of it. It's frustrating when these hotels don't want to put any money into having good Wi-Fi service and there's no way for us to know on hotels.com which hotels Wi-Fi will or will not connect to laptops so that we can work while we vacation

El personal de recepción OK, pero el cuarto era un desastre: piso flotante descascarado, lavatorio rajado, la cama contra una pared (sino no se puede abrir el placarcito) y lo peor: un serio problema eléctrico en la pared prinicipal, no funcionaba la heladera, el extractor, el tomacorriente. Hasta las 22 horas el "técnico" no había aparecido y con un fuerte reclamo nos dieron un upgrade.
Al lavar la vajilla, la descarga hace reflujo y sale por la bañera con olor nauseabundo, hay que usar el duchador para que la bañera quede limpia y aplicar desodorante de ambientes.
