Hotels.com need to check/change this practice
Booked and paid for the reservation through Hotels.com. Received confirmation email room was booked.
Rode (motorcycle) to the hotel . I unpacked everything from bike while my wife went to check in.
As I entered the lobby my wife was coming back out telling me they had sold the room to a walk in at 1 minute before I booked on line.
Maybe I’m cynical but the fact they would earn more from a walk in without paying the Hotels.com fee did come to mind!
Either way the process is flawed.
Now waiting for the refund……
The hotel did try to ring me but on a motorcycle I’m not contactable when riding.
The only saving grace was that it was on the way we were going. I would have been very frustrated if I’d ridden miles out of my way to get that response.
The accommodation the hotel advised us to go to was only a few hundred yards away but was really not acceptable.
