our small group had loved staying at the convent hotel. the rooms had personal touches and the public areas - hotel bar, hallways, stairways had an eclectic mix of artwork. comfortable beds. great amenities. and an awesome "chef's selection" group dinner at their onsite restaurant - ada, which was a memorable highlight for most of us during our 12 day visit in new zealand. will love to return one day!

A pleasant enough hotel & very different from the norm - less sophisticated and more relaxed and casual in its approach to guests. Regrettably, I was not told in advance that its excellently rated restaurant would be closed for the duration of my stay - so no breakfast or even fresh coffee. I think my room must have been a nun’s cell; it was very cramped with nowhere, other than the bed, to sit. At least there was Netflix!
