Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment.

The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. The bed was comfortable and the room ok. I would not stay again as the hotel is falling apart.

Comfortable enough

Hotel well allocated; plenty of space to park. The room with good furniture, large and very comfortable bed. The toilet also very large with space to put your personal toiletries. The illumination was not very good and neither the wifi but enough to get by.
Pilar Teresa, 3-night trip

8/10 Good

Generally a tired hotel. But it looks like it is getting improvements. Bed very comfy. Big TV. No problem with room at all. Quiet location friendly staff

Over night stay

We only had an overnight stay and the room was satisfactory, the overall rooms are ready for new carpets the grout needs replacing in areas, but due to Covid and the current cost of living the people there do a good job. To employ another few staff at busy days on a temporary basis would be very beneficial to the permanent staff.

6/10 Okay

Needs some TLC and could be lovely. Outside littered with cigarette butts...why not provide containers to put them in? Staff very helpful.
Linda, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

Unfortunately I did not enjoy my staff here, it was unclean, the shower was broken and leaking. I looked forward to breakfast, however it was very disappointing.
Bernard, 2-night trip

2/10 Terrible

Cold showers!

No hot water for a shower in the morning. Staff couldn’t care less and were too busy eating their cooked breakfast when went to checkout
Mark, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

Shower at your own risk

Pretty Grim, I didnt even use the shower out of fear for my own health. Staff were apologetic when I complained but they had no other rooms available.

4/10 Poor

Not good

Very tired hotel. Is in need of a revamp. If a place to rest your head after a long drive is what you need … this will do… won’t stay there again but if it was the only place left at least now I know what it’s like. The staff were not that friendly ( especially the night staff) dirty room and bathroom. The only thing clean was the bed sheets. Pretty grim really
Simon, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

Good location but poor amenities - no TV in room. Main ceiling light only, no bedside lamps/table. Bins full from last resident and used dirty mugs still in the room. Replaced on request, but no TV as we were only staying for one night. Payment to use the car park was an extra.
Joanne, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

Terrible experience

Terrible experience by all means with my 2 daughter. No hot water running in the room and I was asked to take a shower in the room next door!!! Terrible hospitality and the hotel need a major renovation. I highly recommend to stay away...
2-night trip

6/10 Okay

Cheap and not terribly cheerful

It looks NOTHING like the photos and is very tired. Staff are all pretty disinterested and the bar area is very grubby. Saying that, the bed was comfy and a good location for us. Bathroom had no mirror (but all the fixings left in the wall), no lid for the toilet seat. Shower worked fine, the grout around the shower was like a student flat. Altogether pretty poor, but breakfast at the cafe/coffee shop across the road was excellent.
1-night trip

8/10 Good

Just needs some tlc

After reading other reviews we were a little concerned, but as we had just booked the one night decided to go ahead. All in all it was perfectly ok, just let down by silly things that could be so easily put right. The curtains had come off a number of hooks/ no bath mat/ glasses or tea spoons in the room and mouldy silicone in the bathroom. All an easy fix that would have made such a difference. That said, the young man at check in was friendly and very helpful. The walk into town was very do-able, so I would certainly consider staying again if the room rate was reasonable.
Gary, 1-night trip

Needs a head to toe cleaning

Unexpected paid parking. Filthy carpets. Kids had black soles of their feet from walking on the carpets barefoot. Dirty bathroom, sticky spoons. Garden covered in cigarette butts and broken glass. Kids bed not provided. Moved rooms but kids bed hadn’t been made up. Fine for cheap option for adults ( if you take your own wipes ! ) but definitely not suitable for kids.
