Based on all the amazing reviw s of this hotel I expected a lot. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. While the hotel staff was friendly and efficient the hotel itself is a bit of disappointment. It is old, as noted. But some old hotels are better than others. This one has one major fault, it is loud. You can hear everyone on the floor as they slam their doors and chat in the hallways at all hours. My room was also dirty and there were long black hairs in the bathroom and on the floor. But the biggest disappointment wasn't even the hotel. It was the neighborhood. I have been around this area before and I thought it had been improving as of late. However, I visited on a particularly nice weather week and it brought out all the homeless vagrants populating the streets again. I did want to visit the restaurants in the hotel but they were deserted and I would have been the only customer. That felt a bit weird so I ventured out to all the neighborhood restaurants that google listed. They were mostly all shut down and abandoned. Wandering around at night in this area is not something I would recommend, especially if you are a woman. It is such a shame that Portland is still experiencing such an epidemic of homelessness and drug abuse. I really hope that some day they can turn this around so that businesses can come back and revitalize this area. Until then it is best to avoid. Sorry, your hotel has great potential if properly renovated.

Overall good stay. Sucks that we have to pay a 50$ valet fee for valee but for in city most of the time you have to get vallee. So not to bad, beds were super comfortable.

Great for an easy stay close to Moda, OMSi

Was here for a quick stay and it was fine. Had a later check in because of a big concert that night, but they gave me a mini bar credit for the inconvenience. Rooms are small but all I needed for a night away. Staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Querky and cute!

A very querky and cute hotel! Fun, very comfortable, memorable. Staff all around were very pleasant and professional. Valet parking gave us peace of mind for overnight parking. We ate at the restaurant omsite and while the portions were a little smaller than we thought, the food was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.

Two nights for a work trip. The front desk attendant was AMAZING, so friendly and genuine. He rocked. But the hotel itself… less so: the front check-in area has a canvas ceiling to protect from… rain? Falling stuff? Weird. The bar/cafe is prohibitively expensive. My room was ok but had some downsides: the floor is super repurposed/old wood, which may be eco friendly but didn’t feel/look wildly clean. The shower was clean, thankfully. Since I was on a work trip, I had to use the odd little table-desk set into the back of the headboard, but it’s at an odd (low) height, and the one chair they gave was a rickety rattan diner chair… so the overall impact was slouched shoulders and numb legs from the chair’s seat. They didn’t tidy my room (the one full day I was there between the 2 nights), which also meant my little tea capsules (no coffee) weren’t replenished for the little Nespresso machine. Oh. Last note: there is a pretty significant homeless population and the external walls/windows (I was on the 3rd floor facing East) let in A LOT of noise overnight. Obviously an awful situation, but bring ear plugs if you want to sleep. Sorry :/ So, overall it was FINE but just a lot of little unfortunate drawbacks.

Gorgeous

Hotel is beautifully decorated and the person who checked us in was friendly and welcoming. The room was also really nicely decorated and very big considering it wasn’t too expensive. Bed comfy and fridge fully stocked with goodies. Way nicer than expected. Street parking was very easy to find within a block of the hotel but it is paid during the usual hours. Would stay here again for sure

Very convenient hotel in SE Portland. Comfortable bed, basic amenities provided, and friendly staff. Very loud neighborhood at night til the bars closed so bring your ear plugs but otherwise great spot.

My first stay at this hotel was lovely. Make sure you request a room on the interior of the building if you want to sleep. This historic hotel has thin windows. During this stay, I was street-side, listening to cars passing, trucks unloading at all hours, and lots of riff raff throughout the night.
