I loved this place. It’s a hotel that doesn’t make a big deal of itself, but there’s a restaurant, bar, and a liquor store all in the same spot! The beach is so close! There’s a fabulous place to have breakfast right around the corner at Wally’s. The price was very reasonable!!

We had a two night stay to attend a wedding. The air conditioner was very noisy plus there was a fly and a few ants in the room. Also, the bed was too soft. Other than that the stay was ok.

Overall not too bad, Hotel is very old and there was a 1 inch gap on the top of the door, so someone could’ve been watching us while sleeping we wouldn’t know Rooms are quite small, you can tell that carpets haven’t been washed with extractor ever. Staff is great, people are doing their job, but if facilities doesn’t know how to maintain or manage maintenance departments , thats not a staff problem . Would I come back to this place ? I don’t think so. I would rater spend 500$ a night somewhere else.

Surf city hotel will remain my go to for visiting LBI and everything is usually great. Some critiques I have though for this trip was our shower did not really have normal controls, it was either turn left for ice cold water or turn right for burning hot water, no way to get comfortable water temperatures. Another thing was the switch for the fan in the bathroom did not work unless it was held down in a certain way, so we had to put a piece of tape on it to be able to hold it so it would stay on. If these little things are fixed then there’d be really no issues !

The stay was great! Close to beaches and restaurants. Air conditioning units need some updating and perhaps replace old carpets with hardwood floors. All in all the staff was accommodating, friendly and the hotel is old with a lot of character 😊

The property was nice and clean. The room I booked was much smaller than pictured. front desk staff was quite uninterested in talking/helping with any questions. the older gentleman that did maintenance was very helpful but the younger man at the front desk couldn't be bothered.

The property itself is fine not stellar, outdated decor, stained yet clean towels, bed was comfy. The inside of our toilet bowl did have the dark hard water lines that a brush would’ve cared for but it wasn’t filthy. It was pouring when we arrived would’ve been nice if the staff held the door open as we struggled to get our things in but they were friendly once we made it in.
